Alvar Aalto Vase 4.75”
Alvar Aalto for Iittala - 1936
Since winning the 1937 Paris World Fair, global design legend Alvar Aalto’s fluid waves (“aalto” in Finnish) have become his creative signature from architecture to glass. Inspired by the many lakes in his native Finland, the iconic Aalto vase is a timeless symbol of Scandinavian design. The fluid shape is created through a multi-step process. Each unique glass vase is mouth blown, then hand cut before undergoing several polishings at the Iittala Glass Factory.
Mouth-blown lead free crystal. Hand wash only.
