Washington Skeleton™ Aluminum Chair
David Adjaye for Knoll - 2013
David Adjaye’s cantilevered chairs explore propping and balancing, so that they are simultaneously functional and sculptural. Washington Skeleton™ is reduced to a fine geometric lattice while its inverted counterpoint, Washington Skin™, offers a colourful envelope to the same form. Can be used outdoors with powder coat finish which is available in five different colours.
Constructed from die-cast aluminum, the chair's shell and legs are cast in three parts and connected using mortise and tenon joinery and stainless steel fasteners. Available in ultra-durable powder coat paint, a nickel plated finish, a natural copper finish that will patina with age and a copper plated finish with ceramic coating that will maintain the original copper finish. Four nylon glides. Designer’s signature and the KnollStudio logo are located under the seat
